I have been a teacher for 5 years and i teach second grade. I wanted to let people see the things that I do with my children so they can get a great idea for something cool or fun to do in their classroom. One thing I do with them is I like to let them have fun weeks as I call it but they still get grades. For example around holidays I make packets of math sheets grammer sheets and even reading sheets for them to complete and I will sometimes read to them during the day or afternoon and I let them watch movies on Friday if they have completed everything they need to be completed that was in that packet they get on Monday. I do not like doing alot of work and im sure they dont either so this is why I sometimes give them free time on holday weeks and even on Valentines Day!!!
